Sensory Management

Sensory Management means shaping the surroundings for comfort and inward attention: light, sound, warmth, clothing, support, privacy, and interruptions.

Choose helpful input; reduce what keeps competing for attention. Music can be part of the experience. Comfortable clothing and warmth can remove recurring distractions. Freedom from drafts matters; maximum heat is not the aim.

Complete darkness is the founder's preference, with practical flexibility: do what is feasible. An eye mask, a dim room, or closed eyes can help when full darkness is unavailable.

Clear brings preparation together across environment, body, mind, and eyes: clear time and space, attend to basic needs, and arrange the surroundings so there is less to manage during the experience.

This is the setting component of the Relief Recipe. Savoring Inhalation offers an inward-attention cue. Setting Parallel connects these choices with preparation in selected research settings.

Visual Energy Load and Complete Darkness explains the attention-and-energy question. Reducing competing visual input is the practical intention; a fixed transfer of brain energy to healing is not an established mechanism.
