Lay Down NowThe One-Minute-Mend

Stories Behind the Practice

The origins of Lay Down Now connect lived pain, limited capacity, practical support, self-observation, and a wish to make useful knowledge shareable.

A floor of one's own

A July 2022 journal says: “I have a floor. My floor. Where LDN all started.”

Having a home and a usable place meant room to focus, rest, and continue. The floor was a stable, available place for exploration. The retrospective account records that meaning without establishing an exact founding date.

From the Basement Up

From the Basement Up is the image of rebuilding from necessities: getting clean, fed, hydrated, rested, and able to move; staging what is needed; using brief periods of clarity; and treating oneself with kindness.

A later scene joins exhausting basement work, music, laughter, and finding water. The recurring lesson is that ordinary provisions can make the next part of life possible.

Getting Better at Living Sick distinguishes adaptation from recovery. MindTaxes and Creative Continuity explains why preserving thoughts mattered. Retreat and Support connects stable surroundings with room to rest and create.

These accounts preserve experience and purpose; they are not evidence of treatment outcomes.
